In today’s Four on Friday, we talk with Lisa Byrd, a new associate at Hartman Simons. Lisa discusses her areas of practice, what she finds most satisfying about practicing law and her alma mater, the University of Michigan.
Tell us about your law practice – what areas do you focus on?
Byrd: My practice area is commercial real estate with a focus on development and leasing.
What sparked your interest in commercial real estate law?
Byrd: I’m a fairly literal person, and I loved that you could physically see, touch, and point to the object of our contracts.
What do you find most satisfying about practicing law?
Byrd: Showing clients that there are a multitude of ways to accomplish their goals and that we help them find their particular best avenue.
You graduated from the University of Michigan: has living in the heart of SEC country at all diminished your Wolverine fervor?
Byrd: Not exactly, there are a lot of us down here!
